Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?
As with any medical examination, you may be asked to undress to your underwear to enable an examination and treatment , so wear something you are comfortable in. Some patients like to wear vests and shorts, but it is totally up to you.

Can I bring a friend or relative?
Yes, of course, as long as you are comfortable around them.

Does it hurt?
Some soft tissue treatment may cause discomfort during treatment, though this should not be painful. You may feel a little stiff or sore after treatment and this is a normal, healthy response to the treatment, but  Jo will outline any treatment reactions on your first visit.

Do I need to see my doctor first?
No, you  not need to see your doctor first if you are paying for your own treatment. However, some insurance companies require you to see your doctor first.  So if you intend to reclaim your fees through an insurance company it is best to contact them to find out if this is a requirement.

How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments you need depends on the condition and person we are treating. We aim to keep your appointments to a minimum. Jo will be able to tell you within a short period of time an estimation of how many treatments you are likely to need in order to resolve the complaint and will outline a treatment plan with you.
